Is Visitation House a Shelter?
No. Visitation House is not an emergency shelter. Visitation House provides transitional housing and education which is more long term and includes an application and an interview process.
Can I work full-time while in the housing program?
The program is focused on education. Your work hours cannot exceed your education hours.
Do you accept men in the housing program?
No. Our programs are designed for single women with young children.
Do I need a high school diploma to apply?
No. We have a neighborhood learning that teaches GED in English and in Spanish and teaches English as a second language (ESL).
Who can go to the learning center?
The learning center is open to all women
Women who are participants in the housing program
Any woman from the community-at-large who wants to pass her GED or learn English.
