A Joyful New Chapter for Visitation House Ministries

Dear Friends and Supporters of Visitation House Ministries,

With grateful hearts, we are delighted to share wonderful news about the future of Visitation Ministries which is entering into a new season of hope, partnership, and expanded impact. We are honored to invite you to celebrate these exciting developments with us.

First, we are happy to announce that the La Posada Apartments have been acquired by Catholic Charities and will continue serving families as Casa San Miguel. This transition allows Visitation Ministries to focus its mission on supporting pregnant and parenting college students as they pursue higher education. Catholic Charities will hold a blessing ceremony for Casa San Miguel. We will provide more information on this event as it becomes available and welcome all of you to join us at this blessing and support this important ministry.

As you may be aware, the sale of the apartments is part of a broader change in strategic focus for Visitation Ministries, which has moved away from a housing-centric model to focus specifically on supporting pregnant and parenting college students as they pursue higher education. Visitation Ministries will partner with the University of the Incarnate Word and other local colleges, universities, and other community organizations to ensure that student parents have the resources and support they need to achieve their personal and professional goals. We are eager to dedicate our efforts to this growing area of need, significantly expanding the number of families we can reach and the lasting impact our ministry can have on our community.

We are also delighted to announce that Jessica Martinez has been selected as the new Executive Director of Visitation Ministries. Jessica brings strong leadership, extensive experience and a deep commitment to serving San Antonio families in need. We are confident that, under her leadership, Visitation Ministries will continue to flourish and faithfully live out its mission of supporting vulnerable families. We warmly invite you to join us as we commission Jessica into this important ministry at the second Sunday Mass at the Chapel of the Incarnate Word, followed by a reception at CHRISTUS Heritage Hall on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.

As we enter this exciting new chapter, we ask for your continued prayers and partnership. Together, we can empower a new generation of student parents to achieve their educational dreams while building strong, healthy families. We look forward to celebrating with you on September 13th as we formally welcome Jessica Martinez into the Incarnate Word family of ministries and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.

Praised be the Incarnate Word!
